මෙම චෝදනාවට අදාළව හිටපු අමාත්යවරයාගේ තවත් පුත්රයකු සහ සතොස හිටපු ප්රවාහන කළමනාකරුවෙකුද මේ වනවිට පසුවන්නේ රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගතවය.
හිටපු අමාත්ය ජොන්ස්ටන් ප්රනාන්දු සමූපකාර හා අභ්යන්තර වෙළෙඳ කටයුතු අමාත්යවරයා ලෙස කටයුතු කළ සමයේ සතොස ආයතනයේ ලොරි රථයක් ඔහුට අයත් බව කියන එතනෝල් සමාගමක රාජකාරි සඳහා යොදවා තිබීමෙන් රජයට රුපියල් ලක්ෂ දෙකහමාරක මුදලක් පාඩු කළේයැයි වූ චෝදනාවට හිටපු අමාත්යවරයා සහ ඔහුගේ පුත් ජොහාන් ප්රනාන්දු අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලෙස නීතිපතිවරයා පොලිස් මූල්ය අපරාධ විමර්ශන කොට්ඨාසයට උපදෙස් දී තිබුණි.
ඒ අනුව ඉකුත් දෙසැම්බර් 30 වැනිදා කුරුණෑගලදී අත්අඩංගුවටගත් හිටපු අමාත්ය ජොන්ස්ටන් ප්රනාන්දුගේ පුත් ජොහාන් ප්රනාන්දු සහ මෙම සිදුවීමට අදාළව කූඨ ලේඛන සැකසීමේ චෝදනාවට ඊයේ (04) අත්අඩංගුවටගත් සතොස ආයතනයේ හිටපු ප්රවාහන කළමනාකරු ඉන්දික රත්නමලල නැමැත්තාද වත්තල මහෙස්ත්රාත් අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමෙන් පසු ජනවාරි 09 වෙනිදා දක්වා රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගත කෙරුණි.
මෙවන් පසුබිමක ප්රකාශයක් ලබාදීම සඳහා පොලිස් මූල්ය අපරාධ කොට්ඨාසය හමුවේ අද පෙනී සිටින ලෙස හිටපු අමාත්ය ජොන්ස්ටන් ප්රනාන්දු වෙත දැනුම් දී තිබු අතර එසේ නොපැමිණියහොත් අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීම සඳහා අධිකරණ වරෙන්තුවක් ලබාගන්නා බවද පොලීසිය හිටපු අමාත්යවරයාට දැනුම් දී තිබුණි.
ඒ අනුව හිටපු අමාත්යවරයා සහ ඔහුගේ පුත්රයකු වන ජෙරම් කෙනත් ප්රනාන්දු අද පෙරවරු 8.40ට පමණ පොලිස් මූල්ය අපරාධ විමර්ශන කොට්ඨාසය වෙත පැමිණියේය.
එහිදී ප්රකාශ ලබාගැනීමෙන් පසු හිටපු අමාත්ය ජොන්ස්ටන් ප්රනාන්දු සහ පුත්රයා පොලිස් මූල්ය අපරාධ විමර්ශන කොට්ඨාසය මඟින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන අනතුරුව අද පස්වරුවේ වත්තල මහෙස්ත්රාත් අධිකරණය හමුවට ඉදිරිපත් කළේය

Johnston Fernando and Son Remanded until January 09!
The Wattala Magistrate's Court ordered the remand of former Minister Johnston Fernando and his son, who were arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division today (05) until January 09.
This is in connection with the investigation into the misuse of a Sathosa lorry.
Another son of the former Minister and a former Sathosa transport manager are also currently in remand custody in connection with this allegation.
The Attorney General had instructed the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division to arrest the former Minister and his son Johan Fernando on charges of causing a loss of Rs. 250,000 to the government by using a Sathosa lorry for duties at an ethanol company that allegedly belonged to him when he was the Minister of Cooperatives and Internal Trade.
Accordingly, Johan Fernando, the son of former Minister Johnston Fernando, who was arrested in Kurunegala on December 30th, and Indika Ratnamalala, the former Transport Manager of Sathosa, who was arrested yesterday (04) on charges of preparing forged documents in connection with this incident, were produced before the Wattala Magistrate's Court and remanded until January 09th.
In this context, former Minister Johnston Fernando had been informed to appear before the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division today to give a statement and the police had also informed the former Minister that if he did not appear, a court warrant would be obtained for his arrest.
Accordingly, the former Minister and one of his sons, Jerome Kenneth Fernando, arrived at the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division at around 8.40 am today.
After recording statements, former Minister Johnston Fernando and his son were arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division and produced before the Wattala Magistrate's Court this afternoon.
